17 Jul Wedding With Thanks
One of our favourite jobs during COVID has been working with Delapré Abbey to shape and promote its Wedding With Thanks competition.
This morning we sat in the sunshine in the Walled Garden, with BBC Radio Northampton interviewing us and the Abbey’s CEO Richard about this unique project which will see one lucky couple win a free wedding next year.
Last month we met and interviewed an array of generous local businesses supporting this competition. A big thanks to Seckingtons Northampton Michael Jones Jeweller Tom Hewer Catering Sky Photography Tangerine Red Gardners Bakery.
Wedding with Thanks has been organised by Delapré Abbey – to thank and celebrate carers, key and essential workers in Northamptonshire who have gone above and beyond during the coronavirus crisis. Only individuals who are deemed to be a key worker under the UK Governments COVID19 definition can be nominated for this competition.
We have loved being involved. This week our team will be creating mini films that will feature many of our nominated couples (after a sneak peek we can guarantee tears) and the week after we will be reading all 350+ entries and working with the Abbey team to prepare a shortlist for the judging panel.
Good luck everyone. This has been adn continues to be a truly heart warming project to work on, with collaboration and community at its heart. Plus lashings of love and romance of course! #NorthantsTogether
Many couples have had to put their weddings on hold as the pandemic has swept the globe. That is why Wedding with Thanks has been launched – to give one lucky couple a wedding of their dreams at no cost in 2021.
Nominate yourself, a friend, colleague or family member. One or both of the nominated couple should be a carer, key or essential worker. This is our way of giving back and saying thank you to those who have worked tirelessly to make an extraordinary difference during these challenging times.
