07 Nov We did it – double celebrations for Pilkington Communications
Pilkington Communications has been crowned West Northamptonshire’s Business of the Year at the 2022 Northants Business Awards.

Jessica, David and Chloe celebrate West Northants Business of the Year award.
Not only that, we also took home a second award – our director Jessica won the coveted Business Person of the Year, an award sponsored by the Learning and Skills Academy.
Jessica Pilkington, Pilkington Communications Founder and Director, said: “We are over the moon and immensely proud. We have an inspiring not for profit sector here in Northamptonshire and we are proud to focus our skills on supporting these charities, social enterprises, community groups and Third Sector organisations to survive, thrive and do their incredible work.
“We love what we do, helping these organisations embrace digital marketing to recruit, fundraise, promote themselves and stand out from the crowd. Thank you for this award – we are over the moon.”
Founded in 2015, our Northampton-based PR and communications agency proudly specialises in supporting not-for-profit organisations, those in the creative and cultural sector and businesses making a positive social impact.
The awards, which were organised by the Northants Chamber of Commerce, are an annual celebration of the best businesses from throughout the county.
The West Northants Business of the Year award was sponsored by West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) – designed to recognise the stand-out business that has contributed to the local economy and demonstrated business growth in West Northants.
David Chadwick, Pilkington Communications Co-director, added: “We have successfully expanded our business by thinking differently about recruitment. We pride ourselves on nurturing young talent and mentoring and training local graduates in order to develop our own pipeline of skilled, committed staff.”
Cllr Daniel Lister, WNC’s Cabinet Member for economic development, town centre regeneration and growth, said: “West Northants has a wonderfully strategic location and is home to thousands of successful businesses, but as always it is the people that make it truly special.
“Our local businesses pour their heart and soul into their enterprise and deliver innovation and growth to drive our economy forward. But most of all they are a demonstration of what success looks like and can be a driver for others to achieve the same. I am thrilled to see WNC sponsor these awards and celebrate the success of our home-grown business talent and raise awareness of the quality employers in West Northants.A huge congratulations to Pilkington Communications, you are an asset to our area and I am delighted to see your business continuing to thrive in West Northamptonshire.”
The Business Person of the Year win recognised Jessica’s impressive impact within the Northamptonshire business community and her relentless drive in creating opportunities and helping the local economy. Jessica was elated to win, although was unable to attend the awards ceremony because she was holidaying in New York.

Jessica picks up her award
In her absence, Richard Clinton of Delapré Abbey, where Pilkington Communications have their offices, collected her trophy.
Richard said: “I think Jessica has shown real inspiration and determination to pivot and change the direction of her business. She is totally driven by making a difference in the community.”
Jessica, who was watching the winning announcement via video link from the top of the Empire State Building said: “I feel on top of the world. I am absolutely delighted to be named Business Person of the Year and would like to thank everyone who has supported me, cheered for me and trusted me to do what I do best – shout about our incredible business community. I’m so proud to be from Northampton and to do what I do every day.”
Tony Knaggs, managing director of sponsor Learning and Skills Academy CIC, said: “Jessica showed vision, determination and a dedication to her business which I found really illuminating and invigorating in today’s times, when risk taking isn’t at the top of people’s agendas. All respect to Jessica and I hope she gets lots of support in all that she’s trying to achieve.”
